Last Week in Review
- We kicked off ‘Red Cross Month’ with a day of service last Saturday as 26 Red Crossers fanned out across Queens to install 159 FREE smoke alarms and provide fire safety education to 41 families.
- We shared this video highlighting the Red Cross efforts to provide emergency housing to 22 families after a 3-alarm fire on Ellis Ave in the Bronx on February 14.
- Last Thursday, Patch and ABC7 reported on the Red Cross providing emergency housing to 6 families after a fire on West 191st Street in Washington Heights.
- Last Wednesday, NYC Council Member Erik Bottcher shared that the Red Cross had registered 7 adults for emergency assistance after a 2-alarm fire on Bank Street in Manhattan. ABC7 and 1010Wins also reported on the Red Cross response to the fire.
- Mayhem, the Red Cross Pet Therapy Dog, wanted to pass along a few tips on how to keep your dog safe this year.
- Last Tuesday, Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson partnered with us to host an important disaster preparedness and community resilience workshop for our community-based organizations and service providers in the Bronx.

- Last Monday, LongIsland.com and Patch reported on the #LIRedCross assisting displaced residents after a fire on Walters Avenue in Syosset.
