- Over the weekend, we had a day of service on Staten Island with NYS Assembly Members Michael Reilly, Michael Tannousis and Sam Pirozzolo to install lifesaving smoke alarms during fire prevention month.
- Last Friday, News 12, NY Newsday, the Long Island Press reported on the #LIRedCross provided financial assistance to 10 families after a fire on Main Street in West Hampton Beach.
- On the same day, CBS2 and Gothamist reported on the Red Cross assisting 4 families with emergency housing and financial aid after a fire on Beaumont Ave in the Bronx.
- In her latest column with the Greenwich Sentinel, Metro NY North CEO, Stephanie Dunn Ashley, discusses working remotely, using technology to connect with teams on the ground and coordinating reunification efforts in North Carolina.
- Since 2016, Rebecca Tirado has been with the Greater NY Red Cross in different roles. She recently return home from deployment to Florida as a shelter manager and ERV coordinator.
- Chandra Hew also recently finished her two-weeks of deployment in a virtual role to help reunite family and loved ones after Hurricane Helene.
- Vito Reciniello, our Community Disaster Program Manager for Long Island, joined John Lynch on Connoisseur Media to talk about our ongoing response to Hurricanes Helene and Milton, and all that is still happening on Long Island while we support our neighbors in the southeast.
- We are so excited to welcome David Jones to Team Red Cross for the 2024 TCS NYC Marathon! He recently shared his inspirational story about how he traveled 17 miles on-foot through Hurricane Helene's debris to make it to his daughter's wedding on the Drew Barrymore Show.
- Debora Bausenwein celebrated an emotional birthday while in Florida as part of Helene/Milton hurricane relief operations.
- Last Tuesday, the Norwood News reported on the Red Cross assisting 3 families after a fire on University Ave. in the Bronx.
