- Did you wave to our team as they marched in the Greenwich St. Patrick’s Day Parade over the weekend? We are lucky to have our volunteers supporting communities across our region!
- We also hoped you cheered our team who ran in the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon on Sunday to benefit the Red Cross mission.
- On Saturday, our #LongIsland team participated in the Black Wellness Expo at the Hollywood Baptist Cathedral sponsored by the Eastern Shore Chapter of the Links, Inc. in Amityville, NY.
- For Women's History Month, we wanted to highlight just a few Red Cross women who have served the Greater New York Region and continue to serve the community. Learn about local SHEROES like Nicole Marks, Riana Segerson, and Johanna Conroy.
- For her monthly Greenwich Sentinel column, Metro NY North CEO Stephanie Dunn Ashley put a spotlight of the extraordinary volunteerism of Greenwich Police Chief Jim Heavey to celebrate #RedCrossMonth.
- The Queens Chronicle and RiverheadLOCAL encouraged everyone to check their smoke alarms after daylight savings time.
- Last Monday, our Greater NY team responded to a fire in the Marble Hill section of the Bronx and our work was covered by CBS2, ABC7, News12, NY1, and the Norwood News.
- Disasters harm families. Volunteers are needed to help comfort and support people who are forced from their homes due to fires, storms, and other emergencies, so they don’t have to face tough times alone. Join the American Red Cross Disaster Team!
- Mar 21: Join this Women's History Month celebration during Share the Red spotlighting Women Red Crossers who have over 20+ years of dedication to service and the ARC mission.
- Mar 23: Join us for a National Sound the Alarm event in Peekskill, NY to help educate people about fire safety and install free smoke alarms. No prior experience necessary, training provided. Register here.
- Apr 4-7: Save the date for our Disaster Ready Summit, which will be held at our GNY HQ in Manhattan and will feature courses such as Civilian Critical Casualty Care, Naloxone, We Were There, and Active Shooter Training. Contact GNY.DWE@redcross.org with questions.
