- Sunday morning, Governor Hochul announced Ontario and Orange County, NY, are in a State of Emergency due to significant flooding from heavy rainfall. Our colleagues from the Eastern New York Region Red Cross are operating a shelter at Sacred Heart of Jesus School in Highland Falls, Orange County, for impacted residents.
- CEO of Red Cross Long Island, Jose Dominguez, joined News 12 for a segment on hurricane preparedness. Way to go, Jose!
- Wednesday morning, News 12 reported the Greater NY Red Cross assisted 3 families after a fire spread through an apartment building in Brooklyn.
- NY State Assembly Members Brian Cunningham and Kenneth Zebrowski are helping to “Sound the Alarm” about home fires with their video PSAs.
- Learn more about how marathon runners Ian, Owen, and Abang will support the Red Cross by running in the upcoming NYC Marathon in November.
- Last Monday at Doles Recreation Center, Red Cross caseworkers provided assistance to Mount Vernon residents affected by the fire on Sidney Avenue.
