Over the last seven days, the Greater New York Red Cross has provided emergency assistance to 125 adults and 38 children following 35 local disaster responses. Here are some highlights from last week and a preview of upcoming activities. (See below)

- Volunteers, dignitaries, and special guests gathered to celebrate over 125 Red Cross volunteers who support the community at West Point.
- Last week, four GNY Red Cross volunteers deployed to assist in the Red Cross response to the devastating flooding in Missouri and Kentucky.
- Our Service to the Armed Forces/International Services Regional Manager and interns met with our colleagues at the IFRC at the United Nations last week to discuss the work of the IFRC UN delegation.
- On Thursday, our team conducted a preliminary site survey and walk through at Greenwich Medical Service for emergency sheltering and assistance center.
- On Tuesday, Newsday and News 12 Long Island reported on a Great Neck Plaza apartment fire on Long Island where Red Cross assisted displaced families.
