- It’s National Volunteer Week! The Weather Channel kicked off the festivities on Sunday with a special Weather Red segment. Here in Greater NY, we revisited a few of our #MyRedCrossLife Instagram profiles.
- Also on Sunday, Metro NY North Red Crossers provided assistance to several families following a 4-alarm fire in Yonkers. CBS2 was among several outlets that covered our response to the disaster.
- On Saturday the Long Island Red Cross was in Hempstead, Long Island installing free smoke alarms in dozens of local homes. Newsday was there alongside our volunteers covering this lifesaving event.
- On Friday, Bora Durrsi was the most recent volunteer featured in our #MyRedCrossLife Instagram series.
- Last week, the New York Times chronicled the difficult path to recovery for two Brooklyn families’ as well as the Red Cross assistance they receive along the way.
- One grateful Staten Island resident wanted to express his thanks for all the support he and his family received from the Red Cross following a fire that destroyed their home.
- Our CEO Josh Lockwood recently sat down with CBS Radio for an interview during which he talked about the great work our volunteers carry out every day.
- Last Wednesday, the #GetAlarmedNYC fire safety program visited the Melrose section of the Bronx.
